Working Group Interoperability - Reuse and linked data | Introduction
Michael Culture Interoperability

Michael Culture Association members monitor a working group on interoperability – reuse and linked data. The main objective of this WG is to review the different standards in use by museums, facilitate their mapping to a common metadata standard and assess the requirements for the persistent identification of digital objects and collections. The research on development of standards is a determining factor for an enhancement of the network at European Level. The working group also produces tools to support the conversion of museums data into the common harvesting format for Europeana.

Three publications have already been produced:
o Report on existing standards applied by European Museums
o Recommendations and best practice report
o Specification for conversion tools
